Aprils 18th's Letters to the Editor

Dear Sir or Madam:

Just a very few words in response to the recent letter condemning the Messenger and not paying attention to the message.

In my humble opinion, Ray Charles could see that Mr. Obama and his Progressive ilk are hell bent on destroying America as we know it. Oooooh, am I saying, “The Sky Is Falling?”

The writer of the letter, who wants to ignore the message of the Messenger, asks for proof of the Progressive’s Agenda, has only to look and listen to what Mr. Obama himself has said.

Even before he was President he berated small town Midwest America for clinging to their guns and religion. Then he is angered because the Founders have put safeguards into the Constitution which prevent him from doing what he wants. Then he basically tries to void the First Ammendment by doing an end run around it, regarding forcing Religious Universities and Hospitals to do things which are completely contrary to their own religious beliefs. Then just a few weeks ago he chastises the Supreme Court, which was founded by the very first act of the newly formed Congress and is one of three Co-equal parts of our Government, because they had the nerve to overturn what he called a “law that was passed by a strong majority of a legally elected Congress,” never mind the fact, that they deemed it unconstitutional.

These are just a few of the Red Flags that the American Electorate should consider before they even think of giving him another four years to transform America into just another Mediocre Socialist Country instead of the Unique Shining City On A Hill, as President Reagan saw it or the Grand Experiment (that worked) as our founders envisioned it.

Thank you, Darl Mills, Mt. Gilead

Dear Editor,

After reading the letter written about the Tea Party one thing is very clear — that person has never been to a tea party meeting or taken the time to find out what tea parties are all about, otherwise they would not have wasted their time writing the letter and would have attended a meeting.

The problem is people who are sitting on their backside drinking Starbucks watching Reality TV are telling me they do not care about the constitution or the freedoms they are losing every day. For them to say otherwise are only mouthing words and not meaning anything they say. They also do not care or take the time to find out what is being taught their children in school because drinking Starbucks is more important.

When was the last time they attended a school board meeting to ask if the principals of the constitution is being taught to the children in the classrooms. When was the last time they asked the State of Ohio Board of Education why they do not want the constitution principals taught in the schools in Ohio?

When was the last time they called or sent a letter to a congressman or senator asking why they voted for a bill that not only takes freedom away from us but also destroys the constitution in some small way?

When was the last time they look a person in the eye that was running for any elected office to find out how they stood on the important issues that affects their everyday life? Also to find out one other important item — do they support the constitution and what it stands for? After they are elected, do they keep an eye on the person elected to make sure they are working for ‘we the people’ and not just special groups of people that uses money to buy their vote on issues? But then I guess they don’t care and also think that is alright that the people that are elected and sent to Washington DC feel they do not have to answer to the people who elected them, only to the bosses of their political party. I know drinking Starbucks is more important than making sure our government is working for us not against us.

United Nations Agenda 21 — some people are right there is nothing to worry about. After all [what] it is planning to do is to have a one-world government so they can control the whole world and have all of your freedoms taken away and you will be told where and where you cannot live. For years big unions and Muslim extremists have been trying to do the same thing, so why would they want to team up the United Nations? Regardless of political orientation, two indisputable facts remain. Agenda 21 is a direct assault on private property rights and American sovereignty, and it is coming to a neighborhood near you — but not under the name of agenda 21, but either called comprehensive planning, growth management, or smart growth.

So it is the agenda of the Tea Party to do what people that don’t have time to do because drinking Starbucks is more important. The main objective of the Tea Party is to do the job they don’t want to do.

A grass roots organization that wants the constitution taught in all of our schools in the country. Let every elected official know they either support the constitution or they will be replaced by the way of the ballot by someone who will. Also the fact they are working for us not the other way around. The political agenda is to reestablish the freedoms we enjoyed in the past and to insure the same freedoms for the generations to come after us. To return this nation to the greatness and respect it once had but now has lost.

To sum it all up the Tea Party is a non-partisan, not-for-profit, grass roots organization, and like the original Boston Tea Party is not a social issue movement. Our core principles are fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and a free market society.

Yes the Tea Party just wants to fight to protect your freedom to rant and rave about an organization you do not know anything about and to allow you the right to not attend a meeting to find out they are trying to protect your right to stay home to watch TV and drink Starbucks

When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.”

To the Editor,

Last week a person responded to the letter I had written the previous week and that person suggested a few items to which clear, precise, cohesive, and non-inflammatory explanations were requested. I will attempt to answer those concerns (suggestions) although I have already addressed most of them in previous Letters to the Editor. If this person would still want more information than I can provide in this letter (because in order to keep it as short as possible I cannot go into great detail), I suggest attending the meetings — that is where the answers are found.

How are we different? In other words, what does the Morrow County TEA Party stand for? The Mission of the Morrow County TEA Party is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens; to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Constitutionally Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility, and Free Markets; to provide the voter with the information and resources needed, because the ultimate decision is up to the voter; to keep in touch with our state and federal legislators so that they know how we think they should vote and to remind them of the promises they made.

Is the sky falling? No, but the Constitution is being ignored and many of the Freedoms it guaranteed are falling by the wayside. The younger you are the more you have no idea how far afield we have been led. An example: Where in the Constitution is the power of the President to issue “Executive Orders”? Where in the Constitution is the power of the President to name unelected Czars to create policies and regulations? Nowhere!

Article. I. Section. I. All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”

If this person doesn’t own a Constitution the TEA Party gladly will provide them one free of charge. Other reading material they should read “A MIRACLE That Changed the World THE 5000 YEAR LEAP” Principles of Freedom 101 by W. C. Skousen (this book includes the 28 Principles of Liberty); and “THE LAW” by Frederic Bastiat.

For the last one hundred and nine years, the haters of our United States Constitution, the Progressive Movement, have been chipping away our GOD-given freedoms and driving our republic into bankruptcy. It has been done by both political parties and many times without any constitutional authority. Don’t just take my word for it — look up, read and learn about the likes of the “Square Deal”, the “Federal Reserve Act”, the “Federal Trade Commission Act”, the “Clayton Antitrust Act”, the “Federal Farm Loan Act”, and America’s first-ever federal progressive income tax in the ”Revenue Act of 1913”. Also don’t forget the “New Deal”, the “Fair Deal”, the “Great Society”, “Medicare”, “Medicaid”, the “War on Poverty”, “Economic Stimulus”, the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” and “Obama Care!”

One of the statements that outraged this person was that the Progressives have teamed up with the United Nations Agenda 21. It was asked “how does one team up with an Agenda?” Agenda 21 is also known as “Sustainable Development” and was adopted at the UN’s Rio Earth Summit in 1992, the U. S. signatory was George H. W. Bush. 178 nations adopted Agenda 21 and pledged to evaluate progress made in implementing the plan every five years thereafter. President Bill Clinton established, by Executive Order, the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) for the purpose of implementing Agenda 21 in the United States. Cap and Trade, global warming, population control, gun control, open borders, higher taxes, higher gas prices, refusal to drill American oil, food control and farming control (“reform”), and control of private property are just part of Agenda 21.

At first glance some of these things might not sound like such bad ideas until one discovers the insidious details that are involved. Don’t take my word for it — check it out yourself. Web sites are: www.un.org/esa/dsd/agenda21/ — full text of Agenda 21; www.planning.org/growingsmart/guidebook/ — growing smart legislative guidebook; www.peoplepoweredmovement.org/site/ — Alliance for biking and walking; and www.icleiusa.org/- ICLEI Local Government for Sustainability USA. These and 18 other web sites were handed out at the March19th meeting where Agenda21 was presented.

Then there are people like George Soros who give billions to left-wing causes, influences U.S. elections, and wants to curtail American sovereignty. Soros is a financial backer of Media Matters for America, a progressive media watchdog group that hyperventilates over any conservative view that makes it into the mainstream media. He is a major funder of MoveOn.org, and Center for American Progress that has been instrumental in providing progressive talking points and policy positions for the Obama administration. Environmental extremism: Former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones and his leftist environmental ideas have been funded by Soros’ money. He is also funding these groups: the Ella Baker Center, Green For All, the Center for American Progress, and the Apollo Alliance which was instrumental in getting $110 billion in green initiatives included in Obama’s stimulus package. Soros also funds the Climate Policy Initiative to address global warming and gave Friends of the Earth money to “integrate a climate equity perspective in the presidential transition”, and all this while highly-respected scientists have stated that these fearful climate claims are a hoax! Currency manipulation: A large part of Soros’ multibillion-dollar fortune has come from manipulating currencies. During the 1997 Asian financial crisis, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad accused him of bringing down the nation’s currency through his trading activities, and in Thailand he was called an “economic war criminal.” Known as “The Man who Broke the Bank of England,” Soros initiated a British financial crisis by dumping 10 billion sterling, forcing the devaluation of the currency and gaining a billion-dollar profit. Now he is a driving force behind our financial crisis. Once again, don’t take my word for it — check it out at the Library or on the internet.

Do we have reason to be concerned about losing our Representative Republic?
