Incidents from April 2 — 7, 2012
April 7
Brian Smith was arrested at 7:58 p.m on W. High St. on a child support warrant.
At 9:20 p.m officer was dispatched to Lee St. regarding loud music but was unable to locate any.
Arrested David Hawk on an active warrant on S. Delaware St. at 7:08 p.m.
Assisted a man regain entry into his aprtment on S. Main St. at 3:55 a.m.
Whilst patrolling on foot at 2:55 a.m a door was found to be unsecure at the Cherry St. school; it was secured.
April 6
Man reported at 7:30 p.m that someone had stolen cigarettes from his vehicle on April 4 on N. Main St.
At 9:22 p.m a woman advised that two women were harassing her regarding a hat on Lee St.
A fuel drive off was reported at 2 p.m at the Duke station.
Aided woman in regaining entry into her vehicle on W. High St. at 1:16 p.m.
April 5
Woman reported at 3:43 p.m that her neighbor on Lee St. called her daughter a whore, and threatened to shoot her brother. The man denied making threats and stated she had threatened him. The officer advised both parties to maintain their distance.
On Lee St. at 2:40 p.m a woman reported her son’s Ipod Touch missing and that her neighbor said he had found one. He refused to let her see it to determine weather it was her son’s. The apartment manager brought the Ipod to the woman and her son was able to unlock it with his password.
A caller advised of a reckless driver on W. Marion Rd. at 3:32 p.m. The driver had been eating while driving and was given a warning.
April 4
Whilst patrolling on foot the officers encountered open doors at the high school. Nothing was found awry and both doors were secured 11:55 p.m.
Arrested Michael Nichols, Jr. on Douglas St. at 6 p.m for burglary, three counts of assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and assault.
A fuel drive off was reported at the Duke station at 4:08 p.m
Man on High St. reported a theft from his bank account at 1:25 p.m.
Items were reported stolen from inside a man’s vehicle on N. Walnut St. at 2:20 p.m.
At 12:46 p.m it was reported that someone had been inside of a county vehicle overnight on N. Walnut St.
Woman reported a theft using a credit card on S. Main St. at 12:30 p.m.
At 12:21 p.m a sewer grate was reported stolen from the Drug Mart parking lot.
On North Walnut at 12:09 a.m a man reported that someone had been inside his vehicle overnight.
Items were reported stolen from a vehicle on Rich St. at 11:39 a.m.
A report was received at 11:02 a.m that items were stolen from a vehicle on N. Main St.
Investigated a accident/rear-ending on W. High St. at 10:18 a.m.
At 10:03 a.m. a woman reported that items were stolen from her vehicle on N. Main St.
It was reported at 9:34 a.m that items were taken from inside a vehicle overnight on N. Walnut St.
Man on E. North St. advised at 9:10 a.m that someone had rummaged through his vehicle.
At 9:05 a.m. a man reported belongings stolen from his vehicle on E. North St. overnight.
Items were reported missing from a man’s vehicle on N. Walnut St. at 8:37 a.m.
Man advised 5:58 a.m. that someone had been inside of wife’s vehicle on N. Main St. during the night.
Aided squad in gaining entry inside of an apartment on S. Delaware St. at 1:58 a.m.
April 3
Checked out a non-injury accident on N. Main St. at 1:00 p.m.
An entrance at the Merchant Mall was not secured at 1:32 a.m, after appearing okay, the door was secured.
April 2
Man reported at 10:45 p.m that his wallet had either been stolen or lost on N. Main St.
Assisted the Sheriff’s Office at 5:16 p.m with an alarm drop at the correctional facility.
At 2:15 p.m on S. Delaware St. a man advised that he was being harassed by two individuals via Facebook and text messages, he asked the officer to advise the two to cease all contact with him.
Victor Williams was arrested and cited on W. Marion Rd. for O.V.I, driving under suspension, speeding, and possession of marijuana at 6:28 a.m.
Responded with the Sheriff’s Office at 12:55 a.m on Co. Rd. 77 to a possibly armed man, he was found unarmed.
