June 27 Letters to the editor
To the Editor,
Cardington Heritage Festival
Friends of Cardington would like to thank the greater Cardington community for your support at the Cardington Heritage Festival held on Saturday, June 23, 2012. We are most appreciative and thankful to our fire, police and street department personnel, the American Legion, Village of Cardington council members, Mayor Susan Peyton, and various committed businesses, churches, and members of our community who have helped us prepare for this special day of celebration! This event was well attended and enjoyed by many!
We also extend our deepest apologies to our community for a featured item in our advertising that did not occur the day of the festival. Friends of Cardington officers and festival committee members had worked very closely with an amusement company to provide rides, games, and a couple concession stands and were assured we would have these features to offer our residents; however, due to circumstances out of our control, these features were not present. The details of why this happened are being worked on to determine the cause of their absence and at press time, may still be unknown to us.
Overall,we are very pleased with the outcome of this successful event! Many special thanks to our sponsors: Morrow County Hospital, Byers Ford of Delaware, Cardington Yutaka Technologies and many other great local businesses who sponsored and/or provided events which helped make the day a memorable one for all of us! We would also like to thank our special guests: WVXG Classic Rock 95.1, Doug Brown, First Federal Bank, our live musicians (who provided wonderful entertainment) among many others!! We look forward to making next year even better and encourage members of our community to join us in our endeavors to plan future events! Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers of the Cardington Municipal building located at 215 Park St. We hope to see you there as we plan for summer and fall activities!
Yours in Service,
Andrea Hazen, President, Friends of Cardington
