Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association concludes eight-meet tour

The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association concluded their eight-tournament series of meets last Tuesday at the Marion Country Club.
In the 16–18 age group, Gilead Christian’s Jason Zeigler tied Nate Smith of Wynford through 18 holes with scores of 81. However, Smith would win in a playoff to take first place, while Zeigler was the runner-up. Third place went to Michael Powers of Wynford and Mitch Cook of Colonel Crawford, who both shot 82.
Austin Woodruff of River Valley took top honors in the 13–15 division by shooting 80. Christopher Dearth of Dublin shot 81 for second place and Colin Chapman of River Valley was third with a round of 86.
The 12-and-under class went to David Chapman of River Valley, who scored 44 over nine holes. Max McCloy of Pleasant was second with a round of 46 and Kameron Hall of Grant nabbed third at 47.
The Year-End Awards Banquet will honor junior golfers, volunteers, patrons and guests. It will be held at Kings Mill Golf Course, Waldo, this Thursday. Juniors are encouraged to send in reservations. For further information, call 740–389-6207.
