Junior golfers get through two more events

Michael Powers of Wynford captured first place at Pine Lakes on Tuesday during the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association’s fourth summer tournament.
Powers shot 71 to par the 18-hole course. Jason Zeigler of Gilead Christian tied Chris Grady of Marysville for second place with a round of 77.
In the 13–15 class, Kyle Gose of Big Walnut shot 75 to win. Ethan Blough of Pleasant was second at 78, while McKenna Fridley of Buckeye Valley took third place at 84 shots.
The 12-and-under class was won by River Valley’s David Chapman, who shot 49 over nine holes. Riley Dean of Olentangy Orange was second at 51 and third went to Kameron Hall of Harding and Benjamin Dearth of Dublin, both of whom shot 55.

On Thursday at Kenton Memorial Golf Course, Chris Grady, Alexis Reichardt and Kameron Hall claimed first place in their age groups.
Grady, from Marysville, shot 73 to win the 16–18 class, while Upper Sandusky’s Daniel Newell shot 74 for second place and Michael Powers of Wynford claimed third with a 75. Jason Zeigler of Gilead Christian tied for fourth, shooting 78.
Reichardt and Colin Chapman, both from River Valley, shot 86; however, Reichardt won a one-hole playoff to take first. Third went to Anthony McKee of Kenton, who shot 87.
Hall, a student at Grant Middle School, shot 43. Second place was Brett Montgomery of Upper Sandusky (44), while David Chapman of River Valley took third by shooting 46.
