Betty J. Nelson

Betty Nel­son, age 65, of Mount Gilead died Sep­tem­ber 7, 2012. She was born on July 30, 1947 in Mar­ion, Ohio to the late Cecil and Lula (Lin­st­edt) Levings.

On Jan­u­ary 22, 1967 she mar­ried Richard Duane Nel­son Sr. and he resides in Mount Gilead.

Betty grad­u­ated from Cardington-Lincoln High School in 1965. She enjoyed flower gar­den­ing, find­ing a deal at garage sales, shop­ping, and was an avid Ohio State Buck­eyes fan. Her favorite love was spoil­ing her grand­chil­dren. She enjoyed attend­ing their sport­ing events to cheer them on.

Sur­vivors include her chil­dren; Richard (Shan­non) Nel­son Jr. of Mar­ion and Robert (Brenda Phillps) Nel­son of Mans­field, 3 grand­chil­dren; Ker­ring­ton, Brookes, and Xan­der Nel­son, her sib­lings; War­ren (Shirley) Lev­ings of Waldo, and Phyl­lis (Fred) Baer of Acworth, Geor­gia, brother-in-law; Carl (Deb­bie) Nel­son, and sev­eral nieces and nephews.

In addi­tion to her par­ents Betty is pre­ceded in death by her sib­lings; Ronald and Keith Levings.

Friends and fam­ily may call at Gompf Funeral Ser­vice in Card­ing­ton on Tues­day, Sep­tem­ber 11, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral ser­vices will be on Wednes­day at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Bur­ial will fol­low in Ful­ton Ceme­tery. Rev­erend Tom Toney will be offi­ci­at­ing the funeral service.
