Katherine “Kat” Dillon

R. Kather­ine “Kat” Dil­lon, age 27, of Mount Ver­non, beloved mother and daugh­ter passed away on Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 23, 2012 as a result of injuries she sus­tained in an auto­mo­bile accident.

Kather­ine was born on July 22, 1985 in Mount Ver­non. She was an accom­plished horse­woman hav­ing won numer­ous awards and com­pe­ti­tions for her con­test­ing abil­i­ties while hav­ing com­peted in other eques­trian disciplines.

In June of 2005 Kat grad­u­ated from The Tomor­row Cen­ter in Edi­son, Ohio and then moved to Killeen, Texas. Less than a year later she returned to Ohio and began her life in Mount Ver­non. Kat became a mother on Feb­ru­ary 24, 2010 to a beau­ti­ful son, Gavin Lain High­man, fol­lowed by the birth of her sec­ond won­der­ful son, Blake Ray­mond High­man on Feb­ru­ary 22, 2012.

Dur­ing her brief time here, Kat enriched the lives of her fam­ily and friends with that radi­ant smile and her devo­tion to her sons.

She is sur­vived by her son, Gavin Lain High­man of Mount Ver­non, her mother, Linda Dil­lon of Mount Gilead, sis­ters, Jen­nifer Dillon-Messinger of Pataskala and Nicole (Stephen) Pearce of Den­ver, Col­orado, a brother, Michael (Lind­sey) Cairns of Los Ange­les, Cal­i­for­nia, her bio­log­i­cal father, Michael Anton of Mount Ver­non, spe­cial aunts and uncle, Anna and Stu­art Bog­den of Las Vegas, Nevada and Pepena Neary of Dal­las, Texas and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.

Kather­ine was pre­ceded in death by her infant son, Blake R. High­man, father, Ronald A. Dil­lon, grand­par­ents, Ruby (William) Howard and Steve (Frances) Anton and two aunts, Judith Steen­ber­gen and Cocona Dodrill.

Friends may call on Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 28, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00PM at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Ver­non, where funeral ser­vices will be held on Sat­ur­day at 9:00AM with Pas­tor Tim Parker offi­ci­at­ing. Grave­side funeral ser­vices will be held on Sat­ur­day at 11:30AM in Green Lawn Ceme­tery in Columbus.

In lieu of flow­ers, memo­r­ial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to any branch of First Knox National Bank for Katherine’s son, Gavin Lain Highman.
