Keith E. Levings, Sr.

Keith E. Lev­ings Sr., age 71, of Mount Gilead, died on Tues­day, Sep­tem­ber 4, 2012 at his home sur­rounded by fam­ily. He was born on Sep­tem­ber 12, 1940 to the late Cecil and Lula (Lind­st­edt) Lev­ings in Edi­son, Ohio.

Keith attended both Card­ing­ton and Mount Gilead Schools. He then went on to work as an inspec­tor for Whirlpool where he retired after 35 years of work.

Keith enjoyed bowl­ing at both Mor­row Lanes in Card­ing­ton and Star Lanes in Mar­ion and was a mem­ber of the USBC Men’s Bowl­ing Asso­ci­a­tion. He enjoyed play­ing dart ball for the Edi­son United Methodist Church; he also played church league softball.

On Feb­ru­ary 13, 1970 in Angola, Indi­ana Keith mar­ried the for­mer Mary Jane Craw­ford and she sur­vives in Mount Gilead.

In addi­tion to his wife, Keith is sur­vived by 5 chil­dren: Keith E. (Deb­o­rah) Lev­ings Jr. of Card­ing­ton, Brenda (Jim) Kin­caid of Edi­son, Den­nis (Linda) Lev­ings of Moreno Val­ley, CA, Bruce (Kandy) Lev­ings of Mt. Gilead and Laura (Tim) Edgell of Card­ing­ton; brother, War­ren (Shirley) Lev­ings of Waldo; 2 sister’s, Phyl­lis (Fred) Baer of Acworth, GA and Betty (Dick) Nel­son of Mt. Gilead; 14 grand­chil­dren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addi­tion to his par­ents, Keith was pre­ceded in death by a brother Ronald Lev­ings and sister-in-law Nancy Levings.

Friends may call on Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 9, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Card­ing­ton where the funeral ser­vice will be held on Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Pas­tor Matt Skel­ton and Rev­erend Don Lock­wood will offi­ci­ate and the bur­ial will fol­low in the Bryn Zion Cemetery.
