Keith E. Levings, Sr.
Keith E. Levings Sr., age 71, of Mount Gilead, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 12, 1940 to the late Cecil and Lula (Lindstedt) Levings in Edison, Ohio.
Keith attended both Cardington and Mount Gilead Schools. He then went on to work as an inspector for Whirlpool where he retired after 35 years of work.
Keith enjoyed bowling at both Morrow Lanes in Cardington and Star Lanes in Marion and was a member of the USBC Men’s Bowling Association. He enjoyed playing dart ball for the Edison United Methodist Church; he also played church league softball.
On February 13, 1970 in Angola, Indiana Keith married the former Mary Jane Crawford and she survives in Mount Gilead.
In addition to his wife, Keith is survived by 5 children: Keith E. (Deborah) Levings Jr. of Cardington, Brenda (Jim) Kincaid of Edison, Dennis (Linda) Levings of Moreno Valley, CA, Bruce (Kandy) Levings of Mt. Gilead and Laura (Tim) Edgell of Cardington; brother, Warren (Shirley) Levings of Waldo; 2 sister’s, Phyllis (Fred) Baer of Acworth, GA and Betty (Dick) Nelson of Mt. Gilead; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Levings and sister-in-law Nancy Levings.
Friends may call on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Matt Skelton and Reverend Don Lockwood will officiate and the burial will follow in the Bryn Zion Cemetery.
