Morrow County Fair bakers win big at pie auction

The grand champion pie, a ‘Millionaire Pie,’ was baked by Dave Smith and purchased for $200 by the Morrow County Republicans.
The annual pie auction at the Morrow County Fair generated a total of $2,405 with one half of that money directed to the Arts and Crafts Building and the other half given to the Morrow County Junior Fair Building Fund
The grand champion pie, a “Millionaire Pie,” was baked by David Smith and purchased for $200 by the Morrow County Republicans. The reserve champion pie, a triple berry, was baked by Jeannette Kincaid and purchased by the Morrow County Pork Producers, represented by Cassady Neviska and Reagan Neviska, for $125.

Katy Hall baked the reserve champion cake, a Red Velvet cake, and it was purchased by Judge Howard Hall for $125.

The grand champion children’s cake was baked by Hunter Elizabeth Elswick (Elswick Farms). The checkerboard cake was purchased by KG Concessions for $100. Amanda Kincaid’s chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting won reserve champion and was purchased for $200 by the Morrow County Pork Producers represented by Cassady Neviska and Reagan Neviska.

Others buying pies were “In memory of Stoops by Matuch,” Chester Arbor of Gleaners Fraternal Life Insurance, Schleagle, Full of Bologna (2), Judge Howard Hall (2), Weiler Farms (3), Charlie Howard, Marcello Cutrupi, M & K Farm Service; Strain, Peak, Creswell Auction, Sears Emerson family, Eichorn Farms (2), Morrow County Cattlemen Association (2), Brad and Kim Hessey, Pastry Mill, Mayor Mike Porter, Law office of Don Wick, K & B Concessions, Dwain Peak, Morrow County Pork Producers (5) and Morrow County Democrats (2).
The following persons baked pies that placed first, second or third and were sold during the auction: June Hawk, Vickie McKinney, Jayne Rummer, Kathy Rogers, Beth Ann Watkeys, Melissa Fraizer, Alice Wright, Pam Frazier, Sheryl Bailey, Kathy Linstedt family, Lynn Fraizer, Willow Creek Farm, Jeanette Kincaid, Rocks family, Charlotte Benedict, Shadel family, Leah Monk, Tammy Hanson, Hailey Moore and Elswick Farms.
Auctioneers were Bill Creswell, Brandon Strain and Dwain Peak.
Organizing the pie auction were Cathy Davis, Sue Beck and Kathy Eichorn.
