Mount Gilead CC teams sweep County Meet races

Mount Gilead swept the team titles at last Tuesday’s Mor­row County Cross Coun­try Meet, hosted by Northmor.

The boys’ team cruised to the vic­tory, fin­ish­ing with 28 points to Cardington’s 60. North­mor placed third with 71, while High­land tal­lied 80.

Tyler Beck placed sec­ond in 17:37.8 to lead the Indi­ans, while Jason Hea­cock was fourth in 17:57.5. Josh Wood­dell placed sixth in 18:31.3 and Paul Melcher ran sev­enth in 19:16.8.

Logan Chap­man was ninth in 19:21.8, Grant Picker took 10th in 19:33.9 and Cam­den West ran 11th in 19.34.9 to round out the team’s top seven.

Also, Bran­son West was 13th, Nic Pomeroy ran 14th, Kyle Ciballi took 17th, Ethan Hat­field claimed 18th, Nick Mid­daugh placed 19th, Tim Williams took 20th, John Wal­lis placed 24th, Michael Lash­ley ran 26th and Ken­ton Picker took 28th place.

Card­ing­ton was led by race cham­pion Jacob Long, who fin­ished in 17:27.7. Mitch Yake fol­lowed in fifth place with a time of 18:16.4.

Mike Queener placed 22nd in 21:22.9 and Josh Queener took 25th in 22:10.3. Jared Gan­de­lot got 29th place in 23:27.5, Matt Queener was 30th in 23:53.9 and Clay­ton Cain ran 34th in 26:38.9. Also, Alex Elam placed 35th.

Lead­ing third-place North­mor was Joe Vitte, who ran 12th in 19:39.4. Jacob Hill took 15th in 20:01.4 and Andrew Stiver was 16th in 20:04.7.

Chris Stiver ran 21st in 21:02.8, Clint Crose took 23rd in 21:29.5, Matt Kimes was 31st in 25:02.4 and Jon Pfis­ter ran 32nd in 25:15.2.

Also, Rod­ney Good­man placed 37th and Mike Adams took 38th.

Highland’s Luke Eber­sole claimed third place in 17:53.4 and Josh Irvin ran eighth in 19:20.9.

Kevin Jones took 27th in 22:32.2, while Nico­las Parks claimed 33rd in 26:38.3 and Randy Ray placed 36th in 27:27.3.

In the girls’ race, Mount Gilead had seven of the top 10 run­ners to win with 22 points. North­mor took sec­ond with 37, while High­land had 82. Card­ing­ton didn’t pos­sess a full team.

Ray­chel Gress was sec­ond over­all in 20:27.3 to pace the Indi­ans, while Rachel Bush was third in 20:55.5, Jenna Ship­man was fourth in 21:13.5 and Bryanna Bolha placed fifth in 21:25.4.

Taryn Chap­man ran eighth in 22:44.3. Sophia Friesen placed ninth in 22:49.8 and Kelsey Sny­der was 10th in 23:08.1.

Also, Ken­zie McKir­gan took 14th, Emma Weiss was 25th and Hope Hack placed 27th.

North­mor was led by meet win­ner Dani Blum, who fin­ished in 20:04.6. Bri­anna Heminger placed sixth in 22:27.8 and Kendall Fout was sev­enth in 22:33.7.

Isabelle DiT­ul­lio claimed 11th in 23:14.4, while Kayla Duryea was 12th in 23:18.3. Plac­ing 16th in 24:44.5 was Kelly Pope, and Katie Bur­son took 18th in 25:08.7.

Also, Naomi Heil­man was 29th, Mikki Chap­man fin­ished 30th, Kat­lyn Stiver placed 32nd and Kyn­dall Williams took 34th.

For High­land, Lydia Hock­en­berry fin­ished 15th in 24:18.6 and Kayla Davies took 17th in 24:59.5. Jena Buch­holz fin­ished 20th in 25:33.6, Nic­hole Carter ran 21st in 26:02, Saman­tha Thomp­son fin­ished 22nd in 26:02 and Kathryn Spear­man ran 23rd in 26:27.2.

Bethany Porter ran 26th in 28:12.4. Also, Mikayla Robin­son was 31st and Bri­anna Dado placed 33rd.

For Card­ing­ton, Shelby Brady took 13th in 23:24.7. Jae­lyn Bal­lard fin­ished 19th in 25:20.6, while MaKen­zie Coul­ter was 24th in 26:42.7 and Shayna Kern took 35th in 44:25.4.
