Walter B. Fisher

Wal­ter B. “Wally” Fisher, age 50, of Marengo, passed away Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 3, 2012 at his res­i­dence after a coura­geous bat­tle with can­cer. Wally was born Jan­u­ary 20, 1962, in Colum­bus, to the late George H. Fisher and Blondena D. Spears Fisher.

Wally was a Marengo res­i­dent for more than 40 years. He worked for Ray Ziegler Heat­ing & Cool­ing and was a mem­ber of Ful­ton Cross­roads Church of the Nazarene. An out­door enthu­si­ast, Wally enjoyed hunt­ing, fish­ing, build­ing hot rods and 4 X 4 off-road and creek riding.

A hard work­ing man, Wally was lov­ing and fam­ily ori­ented. Always thought­ful to oth­ers, he gave far more than he ever asked for. Very cre­ative, his mind was always churn­ing about what his next project would be.

Wally is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife Brenda Kuyk­endall Fisher; daugh­ter Michelle Kuyk­endall of Mar­ion; sons Bran­don Fisher (Leslie Sher­man) of Marengo, Brian Kuyk­endall of Colum­bus, Wal­ter Fisher Jr. and Shan­non (Anna) Fisher, all of Mari­etta, GA; broth­ers Mike and George; sis­ters Cindy, Deb­bie and Selina; 11 grand­chil­dren, includ­ing his pride and joy and Gator part­ner, Car­son; as well as spe­cial friends Neil, Ruth, Brent, Jack, Karen, Rosie Hayes and his beloved dog, Angel.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be 2–4 PM & 6–8 PM Fri­day at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 229, Marengo where funeral ser­vice will be held 11:00 AM Sat­ur­day with Pas­tor Joyce Burgess pre­sid­ing. Inter­ment will fol­low in Marengo Cemetery.

Con­tri­bu­tions may be made to the fam­ily to assist with funeral expenses.
