Three seriously injured in Sunday crash
10:46 a.m. Monday – The Mt. Gilead Post of the Ohio State Patrol reports three Marengo area residents were seriously injured in a Sunday afternoon crash in Westfield Twp.
The Patrol says Cherokee Huffine, 17, was eastbound at 5:57 p.m. on CR 25 west of U.S. 42 when she lost control of her 2000 Pontiac two-door vehicle, traveled off the south side of the road, struck a guardrail and then a tree.
Huffine and her passengers were flown to OSU Medical Center. Daniel Harry, 37, was an occupant in the right front passenger seat and Shelby Biddle, 20, occupied a rear seat.
Safety belts were not used by the occupants and alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
