Mary H. Schuman

Mary H. Schu­man, age 87, of Mount Gilead died Mon­day morn­ing Oct. 29, 2012 at her home. She was born Sept. 7, 1925 in George­town, OH. to the late Harry J. and Susie Nehus.

Mary grad­u­ated the top of her class from George­town High School in 1943. She was a home­maker who liked cook­ing and sewing. Her real pas­sion was tak­ing care of her fam­ily. She was a mem­ber of the Rich­land Road Church of Christ.

On Sept. 16, 1944 in George­town, Mary was wed to Joseph Schu­man and he survives.

Mary is also sur­vived by her chil­dren Steven (Teresa) Schu­man of Mt. Gilead and Susan K. (Dean) Melcher of Kokomo, Indi­ana, seven grand­chil­dren, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addi­tion to her par­ents, Mary was pre­ceded in death by her son Ran­dall J. Schu­man and a brother Woodrow Nehus.

Friends may call Thurs­day, Nov. 1 from 6–8 p.m. at the Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Cen­ter Street in Card­ing­ton. The funeral ser­vice will be held at the funeral home on Fri­day morn­ing at 11:00AM with Min­is­ter Rus­sell Howard of the Rich­land Road Church of Christ offi­ci­at­ing. The bur­ial will fol­low in Glen­dale Cemetery.
