Melissa Nelson

Melissa Rose Nel­son, born in Union County, Ohio, on May 26, 1963 and long time res­i­dent of Mor­row County, Ohio, passed into the lov­ing arms of her Sav­ior on Sep­tem­ber 30, 2012, at Lower Cape Fear Hos­pice and Life­Care Cen­ter in Wilm­ing­ton, NC.

Melissa grad­u­ated from Card­ing­ton Lin­coln High School with the Class of ‘81.

She is sur­vived by daugh­ter Brit­tony (Willie) Wright (grand­chil­dren Bri­anna and Willie Jr.) and son David Thoman both of North Car­olina. Also sur­viv­ing are mother Rose West, sis­ters Betty (Dick) Bur­ton, Kathy (Dan) Saun­ders, Holly (Rick) Ault and broth­ers John (Cindy) Nel­son, Hank (Brenda) Nel­son, Luke (Sherry) Nel­son all of Ohio, and sis­ters Donna (Char­lie) Wig­gins of Mis­sis­sippi and Chris­tine Arnold of Kentucky.

Pre­ceded in death by father Henry Nel­son and brother Roger Nelson.

Missy requested no funeral ser­vices — only a Cel­e­bra­tion of Life in her mem­ory which will be held on Octo­ber 27, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Nel’s Kitchen at 122 S. Mar­ion St., Card­ing­ton, Ohio. In lieu of flow­ers, dona­tions may be made at the Cel­e­bra­tion of Life ser­vice to be applied to funeral home costs.
