Northmor girls finish second in COAL championships

The Northmor girls claimed second place in the COAL cross country meet, held Tuesday at Grant Middle School, Marion.
River Valley won the race with 69 points, while the Knights had 82. Highland took fourth place, Mount Gilead was seventh and Cardington placed ninth.
Amanda Dykiel led the way for Northmor, placing 10th in 14:02.43, while Kristen Duryea was 11th, Brooklyn Mayes finished 16th, Sydney Jennette ran 24th, Selena Cortez placed 26th, Vivienne Cutrupi was 30th and Hannah Quibell took 33rd.
Also, Rachael Morrison took 35th, Brooke Bennet was 36th, Sarah Dudley was 41st, Sara Drumm placed 53rd, Kayla Roberts ran 54th, Rayanna Loyer was 60th, Caitlin Adkins placed 63rd, Alyssa Pearce ran 66th, Caralee Patterson took 71st, Emily Mangette placed 76th and Adria Houghty was 78th.
The Scots were paced by Sophia Thompson, who took third place in 13:25.82. Laura Spearman finished eighth, Meg Mitchell ran 14th, Genna Brown was 56th, Olivia Longhenry took 77th and Madison Chaffee claimed 79th place.
Mount Gilead’s top runner was Hannah Bush, who was ninth in 13:51.59. Darcy Picker ran 15th, Addy Chapman placed 37th, Kayla Barker was 51st and Dani Harter claimed 55th.
For Cardington, Caitlyn Lee-Rosch placed 22nd in 14:26.14, while Sage Brannon took 25th, Jordan Deskins ran 34th, Kyndall Spires took 44th, Cortney Chaney placed 70th, Hannah Finical was 83rd and Shelby Kyrk took 85th.
In the boys’ race, Grant Black took the team trophy. Mount Gilead was the top local team, as the Indians placed fourth. Highland ran sixth, Northmor was seventh and Cardington took eighth place in the meet.
Mount Gilead’s Jason Bolha took eighth place in 12:16.06 to lead his team. Matt Robinson was 20th, Nick Weiss placed 22nd, Josh Conaway ran 23rd, Jonathon DePhillips placed 45th, Tyler Clark took 56th and Josh Molitor ran 64th.
For Highland, Christian Buchholz led the way in 24th place with a time of 13:18.48. Jason Smith finished 29th, Jacob Serio took 34th, Joel Adkins ran 35th, Tyler Bowen placed 60th and Alex Presley was 77th.
Northmor’s top finisher was A.J. White, who placed 10th in 12:18.39. Caleb Hart took 27th, Ethan Chapman was 48th, Sebastian Lopez finished 57th, Cory Rinehart took 58th, Manny Heilman was 61st and Kyle Ditty took 62nd.
Cardington was paced by Quinn Maceyko, who took sixth in 12:01.43. Caleb White took 40th, Spencer Benson claimed 47th, Dallas Crum ran 52nd, Ethan Racer was 59th and Toby Beveridge finished 76th.
