Northmor girls finish second in COAL championships

The North­mor girls claimed sec­ond place in the COAL cross coun­try meet, held Tues­day at Grant Mid­dle School, Marion.

River Val­ley won the race with 69 points, while the Knights had 82. High­land took fourth place, Mount Gilead was sev­enth and Card­ing­ton placed ninth.

Amanda Dykiel led the way for North­mor, plac­ing 10th in 14:02.43, while Kris­ten Duryea was 11th, Brook­lyn Mayes fin­ished 16th, Syd­ney Jen­nette ran 24th, Selena Cortez placed 26th, Vivi­enne Cutrupi was 30th and Han­nah Quibell took 33rd.

Also, Rachael Mor­ri­son took 35th, Brooke Ben­net was 36th, Sarah Dud­ley was 41st, Sara Drumm placed 53rd, Kayla Roberts ran 54th, Rayanna Loyer was 60th, Caitlin Adkins placed 63rd, Alyssa Pearce ran 66th, Car­alee Pat­ter­son took 71st, Emily Mangette placed 76th and Adria Houghty was 78th.

The Scots were paced by Sophia Thomp­son, who took third place in 13:25.82. Laura Spear­man fin­ished eighth, Meg Mitchell ran 14th, Genna Brown was 56th, Olivia Longhenry took 77th and Madi­son Chaf­fee claimed 79th place.

Mount Gilead’s top run­ner was Han­nah Bush, who was ninth in 13:51.59. Darcy Picker ran 15th, Addy Chap­man placed 37th, Kayla Barker was 51st and Dani Har­ter claimed 55th.

For Card­ing­ton, Cait­lyn Lee-Rosch placed 22nd in 14:26.14, while Sage Bran­non took 25th, Jor­dan Deskins ran 34th, Kyn­dall Spires took 44th, Cort­ney Chaney placed 70th, Han­nah Fini­cal was 83rd and Shelby Kyrk took 85th.

In the boys’ race, Grant Black took the team tro­phy. Mount Gilead was the top local team, as the Indi­ans placed fourth. High­land ran sixth, North­mor was sev­enth and Card­ing­ton took eighth place in the meet.

Mount Gilead’s Jason Bolha took eighth place in 12:16.06 to lead his team. Matt Robin­son was 20th, Nick Weiss placed 22nd, Josh Conaway ran 23rd, Jonathon DePhillips placed 45th, Tyler Clark took 56th and Josh Moli­tor ran 64th.

For High­land, Chris­t­ian Buch­holz led the way in 24th place with a time of 13:18.48. Jason Smith fin­ished 29th, Jacob Serio took 34th, Joel Adkins ran 35th, Tyler Bowen placed 60th and Alex Pres­ley was 77th.

Northmor’s top fin­isher was A.J. White, who placed 10th in 12:18.39. Caleb Hart took 27th, Ethan Chap­man was 48th, Sebastian Lopez fin­ished 57th, Cory Rine­hart took 58th, Manny Heil­man was 61st and Kyle Ditty took 62nd.

Card­ing­ton was paced by Quinn Maceyko, who took sixth in 12:01.43. Caleb White took 40th, Spencer Ben­son claimed 47th, Dal­las Crum ran 52nd, Ethan Racer was 59th and Toby Bev­eridge fin­ished 76th.
