October 10th Letters to the Editor
To the Editor,
Ohio gets 80% of its electric from coal-fired power plants. Ten plants in Ohio will close by 2015 because of EPA regulations.
The House sent thirty bills to the Senate that have never been brought up for a vote. The Senate has not passed a budget for THREE years.
Since a budget has not been passed a sequestration of 1.2 trillion in reductions over the next ten years will take effect in January. The Defense Department has 55 billion in cuts immediately with 108,000 civilian and 270,000 federal employees will losing their jobs.
Ambassador Chris Stevens asked for extra security and was denied. There were many incidents before he was beaten, sodomized and dragged through the streets. The President has missed ½ of his security briefings including the day after the murders.
Medicare is going BROKE the solution is to take 716 BILLION out of Medicare payments to doctors and hospitals. The Republican solution has NO CHANGE for anyone now 55 or older. When people under 55 apply for Medicare they CAN choose from regular Medicare or other options. The wealthy will pay more for Medicare.
We now are 16 TRILLION in the red and borrow 40 cents out of every dollar we spend. Governor Romney wants to revise the tax code and lower taxes for the middle class and small business to provide more jobs. He does not want to lower taxes for the rich but take away some deductions for the rich.
There are 23 million Americans that are unemployed or underemployed and 47 million are on food stamps. Is it any wonder why they want to change the subject to war on women? It is really a war on RELIGON. Why should Catholic Church be forced to pay for birth control?
While Governor of Massachusetts Mitt worked with an 85% Democratic legislature. He balanced the budget every year and improved education. He rescued the Olympics that was corrupt and millions in debt. He help start companies like Staples, Sports Authority and many others.

To the Editor,
In a recent letter to the editor the writer listed a number of situations since 2009, all seemingly negative and presumably attributable to President Obama.
Some have little or no relevance, and some are just plain wrong. On one point you can’t have it both ways. The United Nations can’t be inept and unable to accomplish the simplest task during one Presidency and mastermind of a one world government to be feared during the next. I enjoy a good discussion even with people that disagree with me. I do have a problem with distortion.
The most disturbing to me is a statement that is meant to mislead, but is technically not a lie. The greatest example of this is the many times repeated statement “we had no idea that terrorists would fly planes into the world trade center on the morning of September 11th”. As it turned out that they did know of plans like this months before, but took no action. This statement was meant to mislead, but technically not a lie because it was too specific with the inclusion of morning of September 11th.
This happens all the time. Anytime someone seems way too specific it just might be weasel words. When Mitt Romney says that The President has not signed one trade agreement it is not technically a lie since he has actually signed three, but the distortion sends a definite message. When Mitt Romney said during the debate that he had not previously said he was going to cut taxes five trillion dollars it was not technically a lie because he had used 20% and 25% which just happened to ad up to nearly five trillion dollars and are weasel words.
The list goes on and all you need to remember is Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and Josh Mandel have never told a single lie!

Dear Sir or Madam:
It seems that some Americans must really be into Sado-Masochism (S&M) in that they take pleasure in having pain and suffering inflicted upon themselves or inflicting pain and suffering on others.
We have an unemployment rate of over 8 percent, but still many folks think nothing of that and seem to want more of the same.
We have a deficit of over 16 TRILLION dollars, but many folks think nothing of that and want more of the same.
We have a problem with folks coming into OUR country illegally, to the point that we reward those who have and are still coming, which only adds to the Unemployment Numbers, but many folks think nothing of that and want more of the same.
Many folks don’t even want folks who vote, to prove who they are, leaving the door open for voter fraud.
Even though America was founded on the Judeo Christian Ethic, many folks seem to have a problem acknowledging God and His benevolence and we have been steadily moving away from Him, but many folks think that is ok and want more of the same.
Our Constitution says that as American Citizens, we are guaranteed, LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS and nowhere does it say that those rights should be denied, simply because someone has not been born.
The Pro-Choice folks claim that it should be a Woman’s right to chose, whether or not to have an abortion, when in reality she (as well as the Sperm Donor) have already made the choice when they had unprotected sex … PERIOD!
Well I’m not into S&M and do not care to suffer the consequences of those who are, and therefore I will not be among the (excuse the term but it is the only one that fits) morons, who chose to go against the precepts of good common sense and vote for a Socialist who is hell bent on destroying the America I grew up with and want my children and their children to be able to enjoy.
Thank you, Darl Mills, Mt. Gilead
Dear Editor,
The Sentinel’s recent article on Northmor’s efforts to prepare their students, teachers, and parents for the new Third Grade Reading Test showed just how much stress the Ohio legislators’ new mandate is causing. The legislators had spent just nine days coming up with this new rule forcing students to pass the test or be retained in third grade. Furthermore, they removed funding for programs that would help children much younger than third graders have a better chance at reading well. Seems hypocritical to me.
At least one kindergarten in the Mt. Gilead district has 28 students, way more than a reasonable size to get children anywhere near reading that first year. Turns out those little children, too, are being tested NOW to see if they could pass the end-of-kindergarten test. Again, this does not make sense. Instead of concentrating on teaching kids to read, this new approach traumatizes children and gives them a sense of inferiority.
Tanyce Addison, candidate for the Ohio Senate, said when she went back to her hometown, she found people who had made C’s and D’s in school now running businesses and being responsible citizens. That would not have happened had they been crippled by these tests. Studies have shown that poverty is behind many of the problems students have in staying in school and doing well. One former pre-K and kindergarten teacher from inner city Columbus said kids come in not knowing their names, their colors, or rote counting and lacking social skills. Of course teachers are expected to bring them up to speed despite these deficits and have them reading at grade level. Further penalizing kids who are poor reminded one citizen of the South in the ‘60s.Addison also noted that the legislature had locked out the police, firemen, nurses, teachers, and maintenance workers in the battle over SB5, refusing to listen to them. Sherrod Brown, on the other hand, invited a representative of each group to a round table discussion at which he asked them to tell him why unions were important to them. Nurses were concerned with staffing levels affecting patient safety. Police and firemen cared about safety. Teachers were most interested in class size, new textbooks, up-to-date technology, and less emphasis on so many tests. Tanyce Addison vowed nobody would be locked out were she in the state senate.

To the Editor,
Will someone please show us or tell us WHERE we can go to finally get Justice in Morrow County?
My name is Wilma Keen Zomes and I am the Chairperson of Citizens for Justice in Morrow County OH — and I sincerely hope that you print this letter! There are over 300 members in Morrow County who are tired of the injustices being committed by the Common Pleas Judge, the Prosecuting Attorney, Children’s Services and especially by the CSEA.
We have written to the Columbus Bar Association, the Disciplinary Counsel, the Attorney General and even to the Supreme Court of Ohio. We have sent sufficient evidence proving corruption, abuse of power and fraud being committed by these elected and appointed officials.
By showing their flagrant disregard for the law—their actions demonstrate that evidently they think they are above the law!
On August 2,2012, I sent a letter the Ohio Supreme Court and requested a Justice Hearing. The Secretary for the Supreme Court replied in a letter on August 9, 2012 that stated, “…the board is a quasi-judicial body and serves to hear complaints filed by the appropriate investigative agencies regarding the alleged ethical misconduct of Ohio lawyers and judges.” Alleged means “withoutproof” — believe me; we have absolute — which means “free from imperfection and complete’ — proof of every statement we make.
At the beginning I asked the question of where or to whom we go to get the investigation of these officials started in order to bring JUSTICE to the citizens of Morrow County. If anyone has the answer — please contact us at Wilma Keen Zomes, Chairperson, Citizens for Justice in Morrow County OH, PO BOX 107, Chesterville, Ohio 43317.
Thank you and may God Bless!
Wilma Keen Zornes, Chesterville
