Post 97 Craft Bazaar coming October 20
By Evelyn Long -
Dave and Audrey Leonard have been creating useful and decorative crafts and attending craft shows for 20 years and now the CArdington couple have organized a Craft Bazaar to be held at the post home of Jenkins-Vaughan Post 97, Cardington on Saturday, October 20. Sponsored by the post, the event will be held from 9 am to 3 pm. All proceeds will benefit Post 97.The lunch will be served by Auxiliary Unit 97.
The Leonards seek to create “things we don’t see anywhere else.” “We look for something unusual,” said Dave, a six year veteran of the U. S. Navy, who has artistry in his background.
While employed with GE Super Abrasives, Worthington, where he worked in hazardous duty and dangerous goods shipped, he noted the wooden lids on the used barrels would be great material on which he could paint ships. Earlier he had attended the Columbus College of Art and Design for several months and studied a home course with the Washington School of Art giving him a background in artistry. Painting on the lids led to the creation of more pieces by the couple, decorative and useful, which they took to craft shows.
Crafters are invited to purchase a booth space for $25. This includes one table and two chairs. Additional spaces are $25 each and are also $25. Setup time is from 7 am to 9 am on the morning of the Bazaar. Tear down time is 3 pm.
The Leonards invite interested persons to contact them at 419–864-8182.
