Humane Society saves cat shot by arrow

By Taylor Kaser

Tuesday morning, the Morrow County Humane Society rescued a cat found in Marengo, that had been shot with an arrow. It isn’t known whether the injury was sustained accidentally, or by malicious action.

The cat was taken to Maple Run Veterinary Clinic outside of Mt. Gilead for treatment, where the doctors are confident that the cat will make a recovery.

Dr. Amy White-Predieri explained that the arrow entered the cat in the neck and exited between its shoulder blades. The cat, a brown and white male, appears to have been a healthy cat before this injury. It is unknown if the cat has an owner, or is feral.

Due to the burden of sustaining treatment costs for the feline, the Humane Society is encouraging anyone interested in helping or donating to contact them. Call 419–947-5791 or find them on the web at www.hsofmc.org or on Facebook.
