County officials sworn into office in new courtroom

Eight elected officials were sworn into office in the courthouse’s newly renovated courtroom on December 20 at 4 p.m. A large crowd turned out for the event, filling the courtroom with all seats taken.
Seven of the officials were retaining their seats, while Dick Miller took up the role as county commissioner. Fellow commissioners Tom Whiston and Tom Harden were also sworn in by Common Pleas Judge Robert Hickson, Jr.
This was the first event to take place in the courtroom since 1937, noted County Prosecutor Charles Howland.
