December 12th Letters to the Editor

Editor,

I am writing this letter in regard to Nelson Hack’s letter in the November 21,2012 issue of the Morrow County Sentinel.

I have taken this paper for sixty plus years and have read many letters to the editor.

His letter reminded me of a man named McCarthy whose views were as ultra-right wing as those of the letter writer.

I am a Democrat World War II veteran, a member of Organized Labor and I am not a communist or a Nazi.

Many veterans gave up their lives to give Mr. Hack the right to express his views without retribution.

I had the privilege of taking the Honor Flight for World War II veterans to visit the monuments in Washington D.C. There were seventy-five world war II veterans and seventy-five Guardians, plus a Doctor and a Nurse on the flight.

We boarded a charter plane and flew to Baltimore Air Port, had breakfast, then boarded buses for the trip to Washington D.C.

After viewing the Monuments, especially the World War II Monument which is considered the Jewel of the Mall, we returned to Baltimore for our flight back to St. Pete-Clearwater Airport.

We arrived about 9:30 p.m. and were greeted by a crowd which was estimated to be 300 people.

It was a trip that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Duane Randolph, Palmetto, FL

Dear Sir or Madam:

For all of you who have poo pooed, the paranoid (?) concerns of some of us about Mr. Obama’s plans for taking America away from what the Founders envisioned, I will point out to those who can’t see the forest because there are a bunch of trees in the way.

On Friday, Nancy Pelosi was asked whether she would support Mr. Obama having the power to arbitrarily raise the debt limit, with no input from Congress and, without hesitating, she said “YES”. She wouldn’t have said that if we had a Republican President.

I don’t believe this will happen, but it gives insight as to the Liberal’s agenda, along with destroying the Republican Party.

With the fiscal cliff getting nearer, Mr. Obama continually calls for the top 2% to pay more taxes, despite the fact that the Republicans have offered measures that would do away with many tax credits for them that would, in essence, mean they would be paying more taxes, but this is not good enough for our arrogant, elitest President. He believes that merely winning re-election means he can ride roughshod over everyone, with no concerns for what they think, and I thank God for our founders foresight, in providing safeguards which protect us from Wannabee Dictators, such as I believe he is.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t want to avoid the Fiscal Cliff, because he thinks the folks will blame those mean old Republicans who want to starve the children and push Granny off of the cliff. I would hope the folks aren’t as stupid as he believes them to be.

I realize, many will say my ire is due only to what might be thought of as Sour Grapes but is, in fact, far more than that. It is fear for America and what another four years will bring, and there is absolutely nothing I nor the millions of other clear THINKING Americans can do about it, short of impeachment and, considering what happened in Benghazi, that might not be completely out of the question.

Thank you, Darl A, Mills, Mt. Gilead

Dear Editor,

I recently saw on the news where another baby was killed by a live-in boyfriend and, being the yellow-bellied scum that he is, ran like a rat. A few days later he was captured but, unlike the defenseless baby, the police evened the odds against him.

Unfortunately, his obvious murder charge will, in all probablility, be reduced to child endangerment or jay walking or some other charge that doesn’t’ fit the crime at all.

The saddest thing about a situation such as this is the mothers of these babies go scott-free.

Many of these women are welfare recipients that are too lazy to work and allow some free-loader just as worthless to move in with them and become his ‘sugar-mama’, and the children have to suffer.

When these women’s ‘stud-muffin’ abuses or kills her children, she claims she didn’t know he was that way. How in God’s name could she not know? She is just as guilty and should be charged accordingly.

These women can’t lead a life of normality because, in many cases, they are potheads, drunks and/or have the I.Q. of a rock.

Not all women on welfare live this way, as most would do everything in their power to protect their children, but being the accomplice to the death of one child is one too many.

I would urge anyone knowing of abuse to have the courage to report it as you could very well save an innocent life.

With few exceptions, abused children are known by someone and it’s time to be a voice for them, because abuse isn’t going away.

Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, said years ago that no child should die in the dawn of life.

Many children at St. Jude and other hospitals die from an intruding disease that ravishes their little bodies.

Other children die from and intruding person brought into their home by a selfish mother, thinking only of her own desires and pleasure.

I’ve learned, since starting this letter (about five days ago) of two more children killed by live-in boyfriends, one killed by the mother, and one severely burned by both mother and boyfriend.

If I’ve offended anyone, that’s good, as that was my full intention.

  1. (I tried to send this but I don’t think I succeeded)

    Mr. Randolph;
First let me commend you on your service to this country and I thank you. Since you served in WW II, you are a few years older than myself, but I must respectfully disagree with your comparing Mr. Hack’s fervor, with the insanity of Mr. McCarthy and his Anti-Communist campaign in the late forties. Mr. McCarthy had a tendency to see a Communist behind every tree, whereas Mr. Hack, only sees a Socialist or a Communist, as I prefer to call him, behind the doors of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. When you look at some of Mr. Obama’s former and present associates you can understand Mr. Hack’s and many others concern that Mr. Obama is leading us down a very dangerous road to Socialism. His former Pastor (?) Reverend Wright, wanted God to Damn America. His friend and associate William Ayers, was a member of the Weatherman Underground and responsible for bombing a Federal Building, back in the sixties. His former Czar, Van Jones is an avowed Communist and just the other day, one of his staunchest supporters and financial contrributor, Jeffery Immelt, the CEO of GE and I might add, a man who does a lot of business, with Communist China, made the Asinine Statement, (despite the fact that he has become very wealthy in a Capitalist society) that a little Communism would not be all that bad.
Remembering the quote from Sophicles, I believe, you should not kill the messenger, just because you don’t like his message. Mr. Hack and many others are merely trying to warn those who may be blinded by Mr. Obama’s rhetoric and oratory skills, which to my way of thinking is all that he has going for him.
I’m sure Mr. Hack doesn’t need anyone defending him, because he is totally capable of doing that himself. I am just mirroring his concern.
    Thank you
