Indians pick up win at Centerburg

Mount Gilead improved to 5–2 on the year with a 46–40 road win over Cen­ter­burg Tuesday.

The Tro­jans held the Indi­ans to six points in the first quar­ter, but only held a two-point lead after that time. Mount Gilead would then close within an 18–17 mar­gin by the half before pulling away dur­ing the final two stanzas.

The Indi­ans outscored Cen­ter­burg 14–9 in the third quar­ter and 15–13 in the fourth to wind up with the six-point win.

Ethan Har­ris led the Indi­ans with 16 points, while Xavier Har­ris added 10 and Nic Pomeroy scored nine.

Card­ing­ton Pirates

A slow start doomed Card­ing­ton on Tues­day in a 59–42 loss at Tree of Life.

The Tro­jans jumped out to a 13–2 lead after eight min­utes and main­tained con­trol of the game from then on.

Both teams scored nine points in the sec­ond quar­ter, but Tree of Life outscored the Pirates 18–14 in the third and 19–17 in the fourth to fin­ish on top in the contest.

Pey­ton Barnett’s 13 points led Card­ing­ton, while Tyler Dornon added 10 tal­lies and nine rebounds.
