Indians pick up win at Centerburg

Mount Gilead improved to 5–2 on the year with a 46–40 road win over Centerburg Tuesday.
The Trojans held the Indians to six points in the first quarter, but only held a two-point lead after that time. Mount Gilead would then close within an 18–17 margin by the half before pulling away during the final two stanzas.
The Indians outscored Centerburg 14–9 in the third quarter and 15–13 in the fourth to wind up with the six-point win.
Ethan Harris led the Indians with 16 points, while Xavier Harris added 10 and Nic Pomeroy scored nine.
Cardington Pirates
A slow start doomed Cardington on Tuesday in a 59–42 loss at Tree of Life.
The Trojans jumped out to a 13–2 lead after eight minutes and maintained control of the game from then on.
Both teams scored nine points in the second quarter, but Tree of Life outscored the Pirates 18–14 in the third and 19–17 in the fourth to finish on top in the contest.
Peyton Barnett’s 13 points led Cardington, while Tyler Dornon added 10 tallies and nine rebounds.
