You’ll get what you voted for and more this term
By Hollis Eastep, Mt. Gilead -
I’ve purposely delayed responding reference a letter in the Nov. 7, 2012 Sentinel of which Mr. Darl Mills was criticized for his apparent description of some voters being “idiots.”
‘Idiot’ is described, in part, as being unable to guard against common dangers, and many voters did fit that standard. As time will tell, Mr. Mills could very well be right.
Ignorance lives for the moment.
Intelligence looks to the future.
Romney wanted to create jobs and Obama promised entitlement. We found out what people want.
We’re living in a culture of dependency.
In 2010, 73% of births were to black single women, 41% to white single women. 93% of blacks, 73% Latinos, 71% Asians, and 65% of all people making $30,000 or less per year voted for Obama.
We have 47 million people on food stamps, with 400,000 more applying last month alone.
Black unemployment is the same or worse then when Obama was elected in 2008 but the aforemention 93% voted for him again in 2012.
Obama claims to have created 5 million jobs since his election in 2008 yet unemployment has almost doubled in that period. A lot of people actually believed him.
P.T. Barnum once said “there’s a fool born every minute” and Nov. 6, 2012 may very well show that to be true.
Other facts to consider, but in no particular order:
- There will be an increase on 11 federal and income taxes for everyone, which will last the government spending 21 days.
- The tax hike on the rich will last 8 1/2 days.
- ‘Obamacare’ has at least 21 hidden taxes.
- There will be 55 billion dollars cut from entitlements. Obama doesn’t need your vote now.
- Another 55 billion to be cut from defense programs. Another threat to national security.
Without employment to generate taxes the government can only cut entitlements, defense spending, or raise taxes. Guess what? They’re doing all three.
“Fast and furious,” which most people know nothing about, was a ploy where our government distributed 2500 guns to the Mexican Cartel with the so-called intention of tracing them to specific crimes. Since our borders are opened to any and all, the thought was if enough Americans were murdered, gun control could easily be enacted. What other reason would merit such disregard for human life?
Brian Terry, a border patrol agent, was killed by one of those guns and as precious as his life was to his family, our government knew the death of one person would not be convincing enough to brainwash the public. They will try again.
To this date, only two of the 2,500 have been recovered.
There’s a war on Christianity but, through ignorance, isn’t even being recognized. Without some drastic intervention from all religious groups, the war will be lost.
With very few exceptions, children being raised today are “historically” illiterate.
Enrollment is down by 31,000 students in two of our largest colleges. There’s only three reasons for the decrease. Students can’t pass the entry requirements, can’t afford it, or simply have no hope for the future.
Our Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and Central Intelligence Agency Director will all soon be replaced.
Within the next two years three Supreme Court Justices will, in all, probability step down.
Unfortunately, Obama will hand pick every one of them and the radical socialism will be accelerated beyond belief.
Justice Roberts, who sadly will still be there, changed the wording in Obamacare, went against the wishes of 70% of Americans, and sided with Obama. Just a preview of what’s to come.
Our administration spends 1.6 billion dollars above what they take in.
Young people 18 to 24 years old will pay 45% of Obamacare. Most of them voted for Obama.
In the past year 40,000 regulations have been imposed on large and small businesses alike.
On black Friday, gun sales went up 155,000. They all know what’s coming; 43% were women.
Obama wants to raise taxes but doesn’t want to quit spending until 2014. Another of his empty promises.
Idiot, ignorance, uninformed or whatever description is used in reference some voters, the last four years will look like a cake walk compared to the next four.
