New thrift store opens in Mt. Gilead

A new thrift store open­ing in down­town Mt. Gilead hopes to give res­i­dents a fresh option for their cloth­ing and house­hold needs, “Out of… Resale Shop.”

After work­ing in the vil­lage for some­time, Casey Wol­lard noticed that there weren’t many options for buy­ing clothes in the area. With four boys of her own, she was look­ing for a place where she could find gen­tly used items for her fam­ily. After real­iz­ing that there weren’t any nearby thrift stores, she was inspired to open her own.

Hav­ing had the desire to open a shop for some­time, she explained that the loca­tion at 35 South Main St. seemed ideal, and the shop opened just a few weeks ago.

Right now she’s focus­ing on clothes and house­hold items. Cur­rently she has a large selec­tion of boys and wom­ens cloth­ing. She explained that dona­tions are always wel­come. Specif­i­cally, she’s look­ing for girls clothes in good con­di­tion, size 12 and under.

“I think there’s a need,” Wol­lard said, “I just don’t think the peo­ple know we’re here.” Her store gives fam­i­lies an option to buy decently priced items locally.

New items are con­stantly com­ing in, so Wol­lard says to stop in when­ever you find there’s some­thing you’re out of.
