New thrift store opens in Mt. Gilead
By Taylor Kaser -
A new thrift store opening in downtown Mt. Gilead hopes to give residents a fresh option for their clothing and household needs, “Out of… Resale Shop.”
After working in the village for sometime, Casey Wollard noticed that there weren’t many options for buying clothes in the area. With four boys of her own, she was looking for a place where she could find gently used items for her family. After realizing that there weren’t any nearby thrift stores, she was inspired to open her own.
Having had the desire to open a shop for sometime, she explained that the location at 35 South Main St. seemed ideal, and the shop opened just a few weeks ago.
Right now she’s focusing on clothes and household items. Currently she has a large selection of boys and womens clothing. She explained that donations are always welcome. Specifically, she’s looking for girls clothes in good condition, size 12 and under.
“I think there’s a need,” Wollard said, “I just don’t think the people know we’re here.” Her store gives families an option to buy decently priced items locally.
New items are constantly coming in, so Wollard says to stop in whenever you find there’s something you’re out of.
