Deputy Brandon Moore retires from the Sheriff’s Office after a colorful career

By Taylor Kaser -

Deputy Brandon Moore is now retired from his duties serving the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office. Moore’s successful career saw him serve as a detective for the Sheriff’s Office.

Many people in Morrow County and across the country are familiar with Moore after he was injured during a dispute in 2010. Moore was shot five times during an altercation between a land owner and a man growing marijuana in the eastern part of the county.

He later went on to win the national America’s Most Wanted “All Star Award” for 2012.

Now that he’s retired, Moore says he’s interested in pursuing something in the ministry. He’s only one class away from receiving his Associate’s degree in Biblical studies. Already having experience in computers, Moore says that’s also an option.

Public speaking is something that Moore has had his fair share of since he was injured in duty, and he plans to continue speaking.

Author might just be Moore’s next title, he’s working on writing a book, currently called “Courage Under Fire.”

Moore said one of his favorite things about working for the Sheriff’s office was seeing a big investigation finaaly come together, and getting the big picture.

In the short term, he says he’s looking forward to being able to “do his own thing.” For the long term, he says he’s ready to do whatever the Lord wants.
