January 16th's Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Election 2012, A Sonnet
For some Obama’s victory was sweet
Because the ultra-Right had been so proud
To think Obama’s end would be defeat.
The people spoke with voices clear and loud.
They gave the President another term.
Of candidates they knew he was the best.
Election Day made Right-wing pundits squirm.
They thought Obama’s win a cruel jest.
Tea Party members need to understand,
The group they represent is very small.
The citizens of our most blesséd land,
Desire a President for one and all.
So quench your anger now Tea Party friends,
And work with Democrats for noble ends.
Thank you, Edward Taylor, Mount Gilead
Letter to the Editor,
Hooray for the John Birch Society and the National Rifle Association (NRA) for demanding that our school teachers be armed to protect our children by using their U.S. Constitutional gun rights and armed guards. If the teachers had been routinely armed in the past decades, it’s obvious that the killings and the casualties would have been reduced by at least 90%. However, our leaders and the police wouldn’t allow our teachers to be armed and by doing so they have directly violated our Constitution that they have sworn to uphold and facilitated the horrible death and destruction. They should be investigated and prosecuted for such acts against our children. We should support the John Birch Society and the NRA in their efforts to arm our teachers and protect our children, and if the teachers bring their own guns, it will cost nothing.
Sincerely, Ed Nemecheck, Landers CA
Dear Editor,
I would like to publically thank the Morrow County Democratic Party for donating to the Cardington Community Food Pantry. I understand that they helped other pantries in the county, too.
This gift before our December pantry helped us to purchase extra food for our patrons.
I appreciate it that the Democratic Party in Morrow County demonstrated their concern for the people of Morrow County with their donations.
Sincerely, Jean Smith, Missions Chairperson
