Feb. 6's Letters to the Editor
To the Editor,
Kudos to Doug Patton on his “Another Clinton Has Lied Under Oath” in the Friday, February 1, 2013 News Journal.
It’s a conundrum to me as to why Bill, who philandered and lied his way through a Governorship and two terms as President, and Hillary, who in her own right is an accomplished liar (coached by Bill) and plies her art whenever it is convenient to her political career and 2016 aspiration are admired and respected by so many – mostly Democrats. The only Clinton I have any respect for at all is Chelsea and that, for the most part, is (depending on what the meaning of is is) she keeps her mouth shut.

Dear Sir or Madam:
Years ago there was a cartoon character named Pogo, who made a very profound statement that would be very appropriate for Mr. Obama’s foreign policy. Pogo said, “WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND THE ENEMY IS US”.
There are so many examples that one might think of, that instead of protecting the American People, Mr. Obama is doing everything to undermine our security. Among the questionable decisions he has made there was the time when the Egyptian people became disenchanted with Hosni Mubarak, who despite his heavy hand, was Pro-America and there was an uprising with several factions battling for the hearts and minds of the people. Mohammed Morsi, a rather Radical lslamist who was being pushed and sponsored, as it were, by the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamic faction who Mr. Obama decided, in his Solomon-like wisdom, was not such a bad fellow and therefore did nothing to challenge the Brotherhood in their claim to power in Egypt. Now Morsi is in power and the United States is continuing its military and financial support of this illegitimate regime. When Mr. Mubarak was in power, we had contracted to sell Egypt twenty or so F-16s and despite Mr. Morsi’s hatred for Israel and his Radical Islamic support, Mr. Obama has decided to continue that contract, when there is no real reason for them to have them. Egypt has no enemies in the area to speak of, except perhaps Israel, and that is only because they choose to have them as an enemy by calling them descendents of Pigs and other such names. This atone might give credence to the claims that Mr. Obama has Islamic leanings and he himself does not like Israel. Why would anyone who is supposed to be concerned with our well being, as Mr. Obama is supposed to be, offer a potential enemy the means with which to inflict pain and destruction on us or our allies?
It seems to me that not only is Mr. Obama undermining America’s security on foreign fronts, he is also trying to undermine our security as a nation by trying to subvert our beloved Constitution, by chipping away at our freedoms, under the guise of making America safer and more prosperous.
I’d like to know, since President Bush has been out of office for four years and even if a good share of our financial problems originated under him, Mr. Obama should have been able to get the car out of the ditch, as he had claimed the Democrats had done, way back in November of 2010, who is he going to blame now, other than himself?
It is mind boggling that the American people, despite Mr. Obama’s mishandling of almost every major situation that has arisen, continue to support him, becoming, in my mind, complicit in his gradual destruction of our American way of life. That is why I believe, like Pogo, we are our own worst enemy.
Sincerely, Darl Mills, Mt. Gilead
