Mt. Gilead Village Council has vacancy - seeks candidates

The Mt. Gilead Vil­lage Coun­cil will accept let­ters and/or resumes to serve an unex­pired term on Coun­cil. The term expires on Decem­ber 31, 2013. Appli­cants shall have resided in the Vil­lage one year and shall be an elec­tor of the vil­lage. No mem­ber of the Coun­cil shall hold any other pub­lic office, be inter­ested in any con­tract with the Vil­lage, or hold employ­ment with the Vil­lage, except that appli­cant may be a notary pub­lic, a mem­ber of the state mili­tia, or a vol­un­teer fire­man of the Vil­lage, pro­vided appli­cant shall not receive any com­pen­sa­tion for ser­vices as a vol­un­teer fire­man of the Vil­lage in addi­tion to his reg­u­lar com­pen­sa­tion as a Coun­cil member.

Let­ters of appli­ca­tion may be sub­mit­ted to the Mayor’s office, 72 W. High St. until 4:00 PM on Wednes­day, Feb­ru­ary 20, 2013. Inter­views will con­ducted at a Spe­cial Meet­ing at 7:00 PM on Mon­day, Feb­ru­ary 25, 2013 in Coun­cil Chambers.
