Truck crashes into Mt. Gilead Duke station
Employees at the Duke and Duchess station in Mt. Gilead got a surprise Sunday evening when a pickup truck driven by Mitchell Chambers went over the concrete stops and broke through the store’s plate glass windows.
Chambers explained that he accidentally hit the gas and brakes at the same time, causing the accident at approximately 5:45 p.m. No one was injured in the incident. He was later charged by the Mount Gilead Police Department for driving under the influence and failure to control.
