JOG tests out DUI goggles

Last year the Northmor JOG seniors purchased a Mario Kart and Wii to use for texting and DUI goggles. The idea came from the Safe Driving Summit Meeting last March. The seniors could reach more high school students by having them participate in the project during lunch.

This year’s Northmor JOG seniors had Ohio Highway State Trooper Nelson (Morrow County Youth Safety Council) come and help them with the Mario Kart at lunch.

Trooper Nelson helped change up the scenarios to the texting and using the DUI goggles, which simulated more realistic driving. The Mario Kart project will be brought out during prom week to remind students to not drink and drive and that texting is against the law.
