Weekend incidents result in one death, one serious injury

Two separate weekend incidents resulted in the death of a child and the serious injury of a teenager.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Morrow County Sheriff’s office reported they received a call at 7:44 p.m. regarding an incident on Township Road 214 in Bennington Township. A four-year-old child reportedly fell out of a moving vehicle and was transported to Morrow County Hospital. He was transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, Morrow County Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Township Road 86 in regards to a shooting. The Sheriff’s Office reports a 14-year-old Morrow County female had shot herself in the abdomen with a rifle. She was flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where her condition is listed as serious.

The incident remains under investigation by Morrow County Sheriff’s detectives.
