LIMA — Two commercial semitrailers were involved in a collision, closing the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 for approximately 45 minutes Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Lima Fire Department, one truck slowed for traffic near the Bluelick Road exit when another semitrailer, unaware of the slowing traffic, rear-ended into it at 4:14 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver in one of the semitrailers was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center with serious injuries. A passenger in the front vehicle was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center by the Lima Fire Department for treatment of injuries.
The interstate was cleared up just after 5 p.m.
The incident is under investigation, and no other information was available Tuesday evening.
