Hidden Lakes home lost to Tuesday evening blaze

Dec. 10, 2013 - Fire destroyed a structure at Hidden Lakes Campground late Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:32 pm Tuesday firefighters responded to a fire at Hidden Lakes Campground Lot 221.

The fire is believed to have started in the rear of a camper, which also has a built on addition.

Witnesses at the scene report that a woman and her daughter live in the camper but were not home at the time the blaze broke out. They report that two dogs are believed to have been inside and presumed to have perished in the fire.

No cause has been determined as it is currently under investigation by Mt. Gilead Fire department.

Units from Mt.Gilead Fire Department, Cardington Fire Department, Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department, Morrow County E.M.S., and the Morrow County Sheriff’s department responded to the scene.
