The Northmor wrestling team picked up a pair of wins in dual meet action on Wednesday, as the Knights topped Highland and Centerburg at Centerburg.
In their 54-28 win over Highland, Sam Neer (138), Jake Farley (145) and Cody Ross (160) won by pin. Winning by forfeit were Jakob Neer (106), Matthew Ross (113), Brad Baker (132), Jamie Baldridge (152), Lane Foster (170) and Thomas VanHorn (182).
Highland claimed five wins in the match. Mike Stewart (120), Zach Baker (195) and Ed Kontul (285) won by pin, while Sean Dudgeon (126) took a major decision and Dustin Baker (220) picked up a win via forfeit.
In a 40-37 win over Centerburg, the Knights and Trojans both picked up wins in seven matches, but the Knights were able to squeak out a few extra points thanks to earning some big wins in order to edge their hosts.
Matthew Ross, Sam Neer and Farley won by pin, while Jakob Neer, Griffin Jenkins (120) and Braedon Carter (285) took forfeits. Also, Baldridge claimed a major decision victory to provide the final four points for his team.
Cardington dropped a pair of duals on Friday to Columbus schools. The Pirates lost 48-30 to DeSales and 38-24 to Columbus Academy. Six Pirate wrestlers picked up at least one win on the day in Adam Hook, Brooke Jackson, Lane Waddell, Colton Jenkins, Jarrod Fair and Gabe McAvoy.
