Northmor and Cardington competed over the weekend at the J.C. Gorman Invitational in Mansfield, with the Knights finishing 14th with 75 points and the Pirates tying for 25th with 32.
For Northmor, Jamie Baldridge claimed an individual title at 152 pounds to improve to 22-1 on the season. He edged Josh Ryan of Perkins in the finals by a 3-1 margin after winning two earlier matches by decision and one by first-period pin.
Cody Ross took second at 160. He won his first two by pin and third by decision before falling by a 4-0 margin in the finals. Sam Neer was fourth at 132, winning four matches along the way.
Jake Farley (138) won two matches, but didn’t place. Claiming one win each were Jakob Neer (106), Matthew Ross (113) and Lane Foster (170).
Cardington was paced by Colton Jenkins at 170 pounds, who took fifth place and won five times during the two days. Lane Waddell (138), Eric Collins (195) and Jarrod Fair (220) all picked up two wins, while Adam Hook (120) added one win.
