Next TEA Party meeting is February 17
The Morrow County TEA Party will meet Monday, Feb. 17, at the Mount Gilead Library 34 E. High Street in the rear. Guest Speaker Baylor Myers, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Ohio, a conservative issue advocacy group will tell of the AFP Ohio plans to play an integral role in the 2014 political landscape, particularly in the arena of voter registration and turnout. There also will be Constitutional questions ask, everyone should bring their copy of the U.S. Constitution and, if anyone does not have one, they will be given one. The Morrow County TEA Party (a non-partisan organization) meetings are open to the public and all are welcome.
Marengo Seniors Carry-In is February 17

Ag Produce class starts February 27
The Morrow County OSU Extension Office will be offering a Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) class on February 27, 1:00-4:00 PM. This class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about properly handling produce and food. If you are interested in safe handling of produce, setting up at a farmer’s market or selling food of any kind, we encourage you to sign up. The class will be held at the OSU Extension office at The Wilhelm Building, 871 W. Marion Rd, Mt Gilead and the fee is $20. Pre-registration is required. Cardington Boosters monthly Market Day fundraiser underway
Cardington Music Boosters is continuing with its monthly Market Day fundraiser! Any of the Desserts listed in the March order guide will help raise monies for the Music Boosters Scholarship Fund. Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast is March 1
The Annual Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Mt Gilead Kiwanis will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 7am until noon. The event is at Mt Gilead Elementary Cafeteria ,335 Park Avenue and will feature local dance groups throughout the serving hours. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 and can be purchased at the door or from Kiwanis members.
Social Security seminar coming up March 4
Andy Bower with Edward Jones will be hosting a Social Security seminar with a guest speaker on March 4th, 2014 at the Morrow County Emergency Services Building located at 140 S. Main from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. This program is targeted for those ages 58-66 who have not yet begun Social Security benefits. Space is limited to 40 registrants, therefore RSVP is required. CLHS Alumni Hall of Fame taking nominations til April 1
Nominations can now be made for the Cardington-Lincoln High School Alumni Hall of Fame for 2014. The forms can be picked up at the Cardington-Lincoln Administration office, 121 Nichols Street, or by contacting Evelyn Long at 419-864-6786. The nominations should be submitted by April 1, 2014.
Volunteer Library Trustee sought
The Cardington-Lincoln Public Library has a vacancy for a library trustee with a 7-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2014. This is a volunteer position. Interested Cardington-Lincoln School District residents should send a cover letter accompanied by a resume or other statement of qualifications to the President Board of Trustees, Cardington-Lincoln Public Library, P.O. Selover Library hosts homeschool book club
Selover Public Library in Chesterville will host the Choose Your Own Book Club for homeschool families again this year. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 1:15 p.m. in the community room.

Breastfeeding Support and Information 1st Wed. of month
Planning to breastfeed? Then you’ll want the information and encouragement that La Leche League provides. Services are Free and include monthly informational meetings and 24 hour phone help for breastfeeding problems or questions. All pregnant women, mothers, and their babies are welcome. Narcotics Anonymous meets Monday and Friday
Narcotics Anonymous meetings are being held on Monday nights from 5:00-6:00 pm and Friday nights from 4:00-5:00 pm in Mt. Gilead at the RPR/Mental Health Building, 950 Meadow Drive.
Friday Night Faith & Hope Group meets weekly
Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Friday night, 8-9 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, 75 S. Cherry St., Mount Gilead. There is also an Al-Anon (family of alcoholics) meeting held separately.
Nar-Anon meets on Mondays weekly
Nar-Anon meets weekly – provides a support group of strength and hope for family and friends of drug addicts. The anonymity of the drug-abuser and family is respected. Dance held every Saturday in Marion
A Marion Dance is held each Saturday from 8-12 p.m. at Sawyer Ludwig Park in the Shrine Building at 1313 White Oaks Rd., Marion. Admission is $8 for adults. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available. No smoking.
