The Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference bowling tournament was hosted by Bluefusion Lanes in Marion on Saturday with Cardington sweeping the Blue Division races.
Red Division champs Elgin (boys) and Buckeye Valley (girls) were the top overall teams, but the Pirates were best of the five competing schools in the Blue.
The Lady Pirates were second overall. Behind them in the Blue were Ridgedale, Mount Gilead, Northmor and Highland. Cardington finished with 3417 pins to win by nearly 600. Lexia Wilson rolled a 533 series, while Taylor Diamond scored 527 and Lindsey Gilmore scored 510. Also, Mikayla Eubank rolled 480 and Morgan Walker finished with a 417 day.
The Pirates were also best in the baker games, with a six-game total of 950, compared to Ridgedale’s 813, Northmor’s 806, Mount Gilead’s 803 and Highland’s 740.
For Mount Gilead, who scored 2798 pins, Rachel Groves rolled 488, while Cheyenne Fleming scored 417 and Mischell McCoy finished with a three-game total of 408. Also competing were Lauren Miller (362) and Breanna Fleak (320).
Northmor had a team total of 2573. They were led by Kathryn Hile’s three-game total of 386. Ciaara Moore rolled 376, Caitlin Adkins scored 340 and Shelbey Lilly rolled 329. Jesamie Houghtby and Elizabeth Corwin combined for a score of 332 in the other three rolled games.
The Lady Scots, who finished with 2494 pins, got 422 from Ashley Koob, while Hailey Howard scored 390 and Cassie Brant tallied 361. Also, Tristan Welch (347) and Rian McGarvey (234) competed.
The Pirate boys finished with 4027 to edge Highland by 33 pins. The Pirates built their lead in the individual sessions, as the Scots took the baker games by a 1194-1064 margin. Also, Ridgedale had 1063 baker game pins, Northmor tallied 693 and Mount Gilead scored 633.
For the Pirates, Jacob Long had a 717 series, while Liam Chandler rolled 655 and John Wilhelm scored 555. Also, Austin Edgell had a three-game series of 535 and Chase Hicks scored 501.
Highland was led by Will Schindley’s 645 series and the 607 rolled by Devin Schoellkopf. Gaige Goodman scored 534, D.J. Copley tallied 508 and the duo of Mitch Hawley and Isaiah Whitt rolled 502.
After third-place Ridgedale came Northmor and their total of 2664. Austin Yarnell rolled 537 and Andrew Yarnell scored 430. Devon Lilly had a total of 367, while Denver Lilly scored 379. Also, Jacob Walker and Kyle Barney combined to roll 258.
Mount Gilead, who finished with a score of 2267, only competed with four bowlers. Donovan Goff scored 509, while Justin Dixon added 485. Also, Tyler Dempsey tallied 324 and Andrew Lyons scored 316.
