Sweethearts, families and friends celebrated Valentine’s Day with dinner in support of the local United Way chapter.

Cornerstone Cafe and Morrow County United Way joined together to provide a delicious meal and raise funds for the local agencies which are supported by United Way.

Over 182 people enjoyed the delicious meal served by volunteers and Cornerstone staff in support of the third annual Sweetheart Dinner. United Way director Jodi Hayes reported that this was the highest number of people served since they started the fundraiser three years ago.

In addition to the meal, a raffle was held and guest tips were donated to the United Way. Gift baskets for the raffle were donated by the Morrow County Red Cross, Girl Scout’s of Ohio’s Heartland, Helpline, Morrow County Community Center, Seniors on Center, Morrow County Job and Family Services Emergency Resource Council (food pantry), Keith’s Flower Shop, Turning Point Recovery and Prevention and Resources and Maryhaven.

The evening raised over $1200 towards the $130,00o goal. United Way has raised 76% of its 2013-14 goal which ends on February 28, 2014.

“Thank you to everyone!” said Hayes, “We are looking forward to our fourth annual Valentine’s Candlelight Dinner on Valentine’s day 2015 at Cornerstone Cafe and Grill.
