Two long time members of Jenkins-Vaughan Auxiliary Unit 97 were honored during a Memorial Service conducted when the Unit met on February 18, 2014

Remembered during the service conducted by Amy Carroll, president and Esther Cellan, chaplain, were Frieda Wilt Stephens, who passed away December 20, 2013 and Annette Ebert, who died January 13, 2014

Because a quorum was not present, no official business was conducted.

It was reported there are 87 senior members and three junior in the unit.

The poppies have arrived and President Carroll will order fliers that explain the symbolism of the poppy.

It was reported one Cardington-Lincoln High School junior girl has been selected to attend Buckeye Girls State this summer.

The Sixth District Spring Conference was held on Sunday, March 2. Cook Susan Sands prepared 75 meals serving a menu of ham salad, egg salad, potato soup, vegetable soup and punch. Auxiliary members supplied the cookies.

A slate of officer candidates will soon be presented.

The family of Annette Ebert thanked the auxiliary for the beautiful Poppy service conducted for her and they thanked the unit for the luncheon served at the post home following the service.

Belva Fissell’s name was drawn following the Dime March and she was not present.

Because of inclement weather there was no meeting in January.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm. The unit was set to meet next on March 18, 2014.
