As former Morrow Co. Chamber of Commerce Director, I am asking Morrow County residents to vote for the Tri Rivers Career Center’s Levies, May 6, 2014. I worked with their Career Development Specialist in regards to the Multi-County Job Fair, Career Passports from our county schools, and starting a Financial Literacy Program in schools with Volunteers from our Local Banks.
Since my retirement from the Chamber, I have continued to work with Tri Rivers on the Job Fair and judging Career Passports. It was from a conference I went to with Tri Rivers that I heard about Reality School. We started it t Northmor then continued holding them for 8th graders in all schools in the county. Morrow County businesses came together teaching students what it takes to live on a certain income.
I have had two grandchildren attend Tri Rivers—one in Construction and one currently in Cosmetology. Not all children are college bound but they can go to Tri Rivers to learn a trade they are interested in, and have the hands-on experience. They can further their career with additional education if they want. I am proud of Tri Rivers and what they have to offer our students. Morrow County is blessed to have this school in our area. Please support Tri Rivers Career Center.
