Arts Alive at the Mount Gilead Library April 26 will feature flower arranging and origami

The Mount Gilead Public Library will open its doors for “Arts Alive at the Library” on Saturday, April 26th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Director, Mike Kirk said there will be Pre-registration requested for the two workshops they are offering on Flower Arranging and Origami. Registration ends on April 23rd and you can register by calling the library at 419-947-5866 or by stopping in during normal business hours.

There will also be make-and-take crafts for kids, demonstrations and information by the Morrow County Quilting Guild, the Morrow County Art League, and Whetstone Industries. They will also have music throughout the day from local musicians and refreshments will be served in the story hour room on the first floor.

The Flower Arranging Workshop will be held from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. with Erica Grooms who is a flower designer and member of the Wayside Garden Club. Grooms will demonstrate the art of flower arranging and she will create two arrangements that will be given away to the people who pre-register and are present.

The Origami workshop will be led by an origami expert from the Ohio Paper Folders. During this two-hour, hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of this ancient art form of paper folding. There is a limit of 15 participants. Those who pre-register will be entered in a drawing to win a book on the art of origami.
