During a recent meeting of the Jenkins-Vaughan Auxiliary Unit 97, the members learned that there are 140 paid members of the unit and over 70 per cent had paid their dues.

Clara McClenathan, chairman of Community Service, distributed a list of Woodside Village residents who appreciate birthday greetings.

Poppy Days will be observed May 16-17.

Inclement weather had prohibited the interviewing of Buckeye Girl State delegates.

It was agreed the unit will send two girls from Mount Gilead High School and one from Cardington. Two alternates are to be selected.

The unit sent gas cards to a member who is ill and to a member whose family lost everything in an electrical fire.

Looking towards 2014-2015, it was noted the following officers will retain their posts: Bonnie Garner, treasurer; Marilyn Spires-Pierotti, secretary; Esther Cellan, chaplain; and Shirley Robinson, flags and flower chairman.

Vicki Osbun’s name was drawn in the Dime March and she was not present.
