COLUMBUS — A father and son are facing federal human trafficking charges that include using a Lima girl in their alleged crimes.
The indictments were handed down this week against Keith Arrick Sr., 46, of Fort Mitchell, Ky., and Keith Arrick Jr., 21, of Columbus. Both are charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, sex trafficking of a minor and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, Ohio Attorney Mike DeWine said in a written statement.
Arrick Sr. also is charged with two counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits interstate transportation for prostitution.
The investigation revealed that the father and son forced an underage girl and multiple women to engage in commercial acts between September and February, DeWine said.
The men used various motels in the Columbus area to harbor the women and used the Internet to recruit customers, DeWine said.
Arrick Sr. is accused of using physical violence or the threat of violence on victims who said they wanted to stop performing sex for hire, DeWine said.
The men forced the women to have sex for hire. The women were held against their will and in fear for their lives, DeWine said.
Arrick Jr. is being held in the Franklin County jail in Columbus. Arrick Sr. is being held in the Kenton County jail in Kentucky.
