Responding to Operation Feed, the Mid-Ohio FoodBank is hoping to collect one million ($1 million) pounds of food this year to distribute with the help of Morrow County Job and Family Services and local food pantries.
To participate, please visit the Morrow County fairgrounds on Saturday, June 21, 2014 (Gate A) from 9 am to 11 am. Volunteers will be accepting non-perishable food donations, hygiene products and financial contributions to feed those in need here in Morrow County. If you can’t make it to the Drive- In, please go online to midohiofoodbank.org/donate-opfeed. Choose Morrow County MOF Food Pantries under the Link to your company’s 2014 Operation Feed Campaign. Each dollar equals four meals and every pound is a meal to those who are hungry. One hundred per cent of the donations to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank goes to feed neighbors here in central Ohio and the donations are tax deductible.
The foods needed the most include peanut butter, soup, chili with beans, canned meat, tuna, canned vegetables and canned fruit (in juice or light syrup). Once the food is collected it will be divided between the six Mid-Ohio Foodbank Pantries in Morrow County: Cardington Community Food Pantry, Edison Enterprise Baptist Church, Marengo United Methodist Church “Angels Food” Pantry, Morrow County Food Pantry, No limits Outreach Center and Trinity United Methodist Church.
If you or someone you know is hungry, contact your local pantry or come on down and learn how to be part of the solution. The Facebook Page, Morrow County Food Pantries, provides information about Operation Food and each pantry.
Working together hunger can be stamped out in Morrow County.
