Three Chesterville area locations; AMVETS Post 87 suffer breakins

UPDATE 06.25.14 - Several breakins occurred overnight last Sunday into Monday in the Chesterville area, as well as a break-in at AmVets Post #87.

Morrow County Sheriff Steve Brenneman reported June 16, 2014 that the Selover Library, Chesterville United Methodist Church and the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church were all broken into sometime during the night, with light to moderate damage occurring among the three.

Brenneman said windows in the door were broken at the library and U.M. church to gain entry. Two interior doors to offices at the church were broken; offices were gone through as well as cabinets throughout the church. Nothing appeared to be missing.

The library suffered more damage due to breaking into cabinets. The New Testament Baptist Church on State Route 95 had an outbuilding broken into. Damage was reported but nothing appeared to be stolen.

The sheriff also stated on June 20, 2014 at 1:43 a.m., a breaking and entering occurred at AmVets Post #87, located at 7825 State Route 61, Mt. Gilead. Two subjects forced entry into the building and a total of twelve firearms were stolen. Raw surveillance photos taken are in the process of being digitally enhanced.
