Cardington Village council’s 42 minute meeting on Oct. 3 included the approval of two ordinances.

Approved was the ordinance which amended the permanent appropriations for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2016. This ordinance amendment is to include the installment payment for a 2017 Ford Utility Cruiser along with a camera so an order can be placed with state wide Ford Lease.

Also approved was an ordinance amending the permanent budget because of money to be received from the Court of Common Pleas Morrow County, in the amount of $13,820.47. These monies are to be forfeited to the Cardington Police Department and added to the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.

Council approved payment of bills totaling $22,813.59.

Police Chief James Wallace reported the department has taken a total of 93 calls for service for September -up by 18 calls the same time last year.

He said that the second class for policing in the 21st century would be hosted on Oct. 7 by the Morrow County Sheriff’s office.

Cardington was to have three officers attending the class.

Mayor Susie Peyton said the Ohio Liquor Control had received a request from the Englefield Oil Company for a liquor permit at their place of business on East Main Street. Council voiced no objection.

Fiscal Officer Deb Fry was on vacation and not present at this meeting. Council will meet next on Oct. 17.
