Two members of the weight loss club “TOPS” (Take off Pounds Sensibly) graduated to the “KOPS” level (Keep off Pounds Sensibly) this week. President of the club, Diana Kemp congratulated them and thanked them for being an inspiration to the group.

KOPS grad, Connie Ross lost 69.6 pounds toward her goal in just a month over one year. She joined the group in September 2015 and reached her goal this month. Ross credits a better diet for her weight loss. She said she cut out most sweets and also white bread. She still eats sweets occasionally and she now finds whole grain bread much tastier than white bread. Ross is also a member of the Morrow County Community Center and exercises there regularly.

Marion Baker has been a member of TOPS since 1986. She gives credit for her weight loss to a better diet and eating less in the evening. She said she eats a healthy breakfast and lunch and then has a light supper with fruit. Baker lost 78 pounds to reach her goal.

TOPS member, Holly Allen was recognized for losing 50 pounds toward her goal. TOPS recorder, Pat Rinehart said there are now 29 active members in the group with 4 KOPS member graduates. TOPS is a motivational support group for weight loss that includes goals for good nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle.

TOPS club meets every Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead. Weigh-in is from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. and a meeting follows. For more information about TOPS you can call Diana Kemp at 419-295-0001.
