Cardington FFA welcomes new members


It’s that time of year that the Cardington FFA welcomes new members into the organization.

On Oct. 17, the Cardington FFA hosted the annual Greenhand/Discovery Degree Banquet.

This was the first year Discovery Degrees were awarded. These are given to eighth grade students who are participating in the introduction to agriculture class. The 19 members awarded this degree are Madison Brehm, Kayla

Carlyle, Brittany Cimino, Isabelle Crum, Mikaela Gannon, Luke Goers, Gracilynn Heacock, Avery Longsforf, Casie Longstreth, Sam McKee, Maddie Meadows, Camrie Meyers, Chelsey Miller, Mikaela Osborne, Tess Ruehrmund, Caitlyn Sherman, Sydney Spires, Ashlee Tharp and Zoe Vanhoose.

Also awarded were the Greenhand degrees which are for freshmen in the

program. This year there are 20 members who achieved this degree.

They are Jeffery Barker, Quinton Chalfant, Kaeli French, Kiersen George,

Cody Hiett, Elizabeth Horton, Nick McAvoy, Sierra Parsons, Emily Pearl,

Brydon Ratliff, Bree-Ann Richards, Connor Shinaberry, Maddie Sites,

Riley Skaggs, Reagan Spires, Grace Struck, Nico Wade,and Liam Warren.

The chapter extends congratulations to these members as we look to their

futures in this organization.
