Edison Mayor, Sandy Ackerman said they had no choice except to cancel the Edison council meeting Monday Feb. 13. One council member was in Florida, one recovering from surgery, the fiscal officer came down with the flu and Council member, Sherry Crawford had recently passed away.

Ackerman said the meeting was cancelled at the last minute Monday evening. There were not enough members to vote on issues. One of the main items on the agenda was the 2017 Fire Contract with Mount Gilead.

Ackerman said the funeral for Crawford was the first week of February. She had been a Council Member for over 10 years. She struggled with illness, but had attended the December council meeting. Crawford was enthusiastic about the new park area in Edison and served on several committees for the village and council.

Ackerman hopes that council members will be able to attend the rescheduled council meeting Mon. Jan. 20. News will be posted on the Municipal Building sign. The next regular monthly meeting will be held Monday, March 13 at 7 p.m. at the Edison Municipal Building.
