Donald K. Wick, attorney and long- time acting judge for The Honorable Judge Lee McClelland is seeking the position of Municipal Court Judge in the upcoming November election.

Wick, a 1982 graduate of Ohio Northern University Law School, has practiced 33 years and 27 of those years were with his late father-in-law, Dale Hildebrand. Wick currently practices with his own son, Andrew S. Wick, at the Wick Law Office, located at 23 East High Street in Mount Gilead .

Wick has been an acting judge when needed for almost 30 years, having recently completed an expanded appointment in the Morrow County Municipal Court. Not only has he had experience in the position of acting judge, Wick has had prosecutorial experience as a former solicitor for both Mount Gilead and Edison villages. Wick has extensive experience in the criminal practice of law and is a death penalty qualified attorney: only 1% of attorneys in Ohio hold this qualification. Wick has defended several capital cases here in Morrow County. Wick has represented numerous clients in civil actions in both the common pleas and municipal courts, providing him a well-rounded knowledge of the judicial court system.

In past years, Wick has served as the local Morrow County Bar Association President, is a current member of the Ohio Bar Association, and a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has served on the Whetstone School Board and presided as their chairman for numerous years. He recently served several years on the Tomorrow Center School Board. Wick served on the Mount Gilead Village Recreational Board for over 10 years and served as chairman during his tenure. Wick was a founding member of the Community Improvement Cooperation. Being an active, involved father, Wick coached several youth events when his boys were younger. One of his favorite activities was serving as the legal advisor for the Mount Gilead High School Mock Trial Team, including the years that his own sons participated. Wick served as legal advisor for the Ohio Northern University (ONU) Mock Trial team during the years that his son Andrew participated. For numerous years, Wick was invited to judge the ONU competitions.

Wick has been married since 1980 to the former Julie Hildebrand of Mount Gilead , and they have two sons. Andrew, his law partner, is married to his wife Laura, and they have a 20- month- old son, Aiden. After graduating from Case Western University with a master’s degree in Social Work, their other son, Matthew, resides in southern Ohio, employed as a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Therapist.
