The Mt. Gilead High School Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates classes and Career Based Intervention classes attended the Youth Career Day at National Trail Raceway on Sept. 18.

Columbus State Community College and Mid-Ohio Ford Dealers sponsored the day allowing students to learn more about careers in the automotive and racing industries. Students also listened to speakers from Columbus State about the classes and certificate programs they offer as well as from Ford on training programs they offer.

Senior Brittany Casey stated, “It was beneficial for us to see what careers were available. I was surprised that in addition to working on cars, culinary arts was a career option.”

There was also time to walk the grounds to see race cars, see automotive vendors, and enjoy some racing. Senior JOG student, Zach Pletcher said, “It was fun! We walked around and talked to the drivers.”
